About

The IT department offers two storage infrastructures for scientific data of the research teams of the IGBMC.

The Mendel storage is intended for the scientific data of on-going research projects (hot storage). Mendel is accessible directly from the IGBMC workstations (SMB protocol) or from the IGBMC computing infrastructure in order to analyze or visualize the data. Storage spaces are allocated by project (not by team or user).

The Space2 storage is intended for data conservation (cold storage) and is no longer recommended for analysis and visualization.

Mendel and Space2 will also be accessible through the Globus network from January 2023

Mendel storage spaces are provided free of charge in 2023. To ensure that this service remains free after 2023 and that as many teams as possible can benefit from it, we ask you to use it responsibly and sensibly. Please request only the storage space you need for your ongoing research and limit your requests to what is necessary. Mendel should never be used to store your old data for free.
