The CryoSPARC app let you launch a dedicated CryoSPARC server on a cluster node. This cryosparc instance will execute tools as cluster jobs.
The CryoSPARC database will be stored in your home directory and will be reused in every CryoSPARC session. This is why only one CryoSPARC server can be started per user at a given time.
When starting a CryoSPARC session, you will need to provide a valid CryoSPARC license number. You can request a free academic license on the Cryosparc website.
Cryosparc launches subsequent jobs on the cluster to do its calculations. While it is not strictly required, you should select an account and partition (group of node) containing GPU resources if you intend to do any real work. You may choose the type of GPU cards you would like to use.
The CryoSPARC server itself will run on a CPU node with default resources set automatically by Open OnDemand (1 core and 8GB of RAM).
Click Launch to submit the CryoSPARC server job to the queue. The wait time depends on the current load of the cluster.
When your CryoSPARC server is ready, Open OnDemand will give you the CryoSPARC username (your email) and password that has been created for you on your CryoSPARC server. Click Connect to CryoSPARC to access your server.
Enter the username and password provided by Open OnDemand and click the Log in button
If you have already been running CryoSPARC session before, you may be connected to your session automatically.
You can now start working on your CryoSPARC projects.
